Ok...this review will be perplexing as a previous one was more negative. We stayed here just one night but chose it due to the good price and the proximity to the train station. As advertised, the hotel sits just across the street from the train station, which is also the depot for the Malpensa Express (shuttle bus to Milan's Malpensa airport). I believe I saw a shuttle for Linate airport as well. From station to the front door took us less than three minutes crossing one street. Staff at check in was adequate and helpful. We were pleasantly suprised by the size of our room. Compared to a room at a Venice hotel this was 4 star and large. Bathroom also larger than a typical Italian hotel bathroom and included a large tub and shower. (Most showers will be smaller than a closet.) We were on the first floor (second floor to Americans) and we did hear the subway below. Staff offered us a higher room but we were not bothered by the noise. Room was very clean, at least a couple of English speaking tv stations on the tv and pay-per-view movies were available. No free internet access which is just silly these days but so be it. Breakfast was a nice selection in a very nice dining room. Subway to the Duomo was easy access though we did not use it. If you need a hotel close to the train station (Milan Central) then I would highly recommend this one. We were sorry we weren't staying another day or two.

The hotel can be best described as ""unremarkable"" and is comparable to a Microtel Hotels like experience; Microtel rooms are better though. The restaurant was excellent and the lounge and bar were nice. Hotel staff in general required getting used to as their demeanor was neither warm nor helpful. Staff attitudes warmed the longer my stay became. The room was small and furnishings outdated. The bed was just smaller than a full-sized bed and accommodated my girlfriend and me adequately. The bathroom shower was the size of a standard hall coat closet but everything was clean and kept clean throughout my stay. The bathroom suffered from a terrible sewer smell that emanated from a pipe in floor. The pipe was covered with a towel that helped block the smell. The room was definitely overpriced but currency rates were not in favor of US greenbacks. While I would return to the hotel for another stay, I would not do so without shopping around. There are many equally priced venues of far superior quality and service throughout Milan.
