LET ME PREFACE THIS BY SAYING THAT I'M NOT SOME HOITY YUPPIE THAT'S ABOUT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE STINCH IN THE BATHROOM SHOWER/TUB OF URINE, THE MOLD IN THE SINKS AND CARPETS THE MATTED SMOKED AND DIRT TINGED WALLS AND THE OVERALL RESPONSE WHEN I ASKED FOR A BETTER ROOM AND CHANGED IT TWICE ONLY TO FIND THE SAME THING IN DIFFERENT LEVELS ON FLOORES 1-6!! THIS IS NOTTTTTT THIRD WORLD AMBIENCE THIS IS A DUMP!!! DON'T GO THERE DON'T EAT THERE DON'T DRINK THE AWATER THERE, GO FOR THE GOLD! IT'S YOUR LIFE FOR GOD SAKES HAVE A BETTER TIME ELSEWHERE.!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S AND THEY DIDN'T CAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

This is a great hotel, full of history and lovely appointments. The hotel has recently finished refurbishing the exterior, so a scaffolding that was there last time we visited was gone, revealing a beautiful facade. We have stayed at this hotel three times and have never been disappointed. This time they did try to put us in a room that was smaller than that we had booked, because we checked in so early that it was all they had available at the time. When we called and explained the problem, they explained why they'd given us the room. We said we'd prefer to wait for the larger room, and all was settled. Just a simple failure of communication, which was easily solved. The common areas are quite lovely, as has our room been each time. It's also very well located, just by the train station and one of the major metro lines as well as tram lines. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Milan.

This hotel is certainly not what was advertised. It has a 5 star rating. In the US, it would be a 1 star hotel. We were supposed to stay in a suite with a separate seating room and extra bed. The carpets were filthy, the bed pillows were filthy, the bathroom had mold, and the wallpaper was peeling. There was no extra bed so my son slept on the floor . The furniture was dirty and very old. The room pictures on the website are certainly deceiving.

We have stayed at this holel twice and have had great experiences both times. Our rooms have been large, clean, and well-appointed and the concierge and other staff are great. I was surprised to read the other reviews--the hotel is well worth the price and is well-located. I have never felt the least insecure about walking from the train station to the hotel at any hour of the day. The Baboon Bar is a wonderful looking place, but the prices for the drinks are sky high.
